1970 Plymouth GTX Engine Options and Specifications
In 1970 the Plymouth GTX could be ordered with three different high performance engine options.
For the 1970 GTX, the 440 High Performance 4 barrel engine was the standard engine. Two engine options were available including the 440 6 barrel and the 426 Hemi.

1970 Plymouth GTX Engine Options and Specifications
The 1970 GTX was available with the following three engines.
- 440 High Performance 4-barrel (Standard)
- 440 6-barrel (Optional)
- 426 Hemi (Optional)
1970 GTX With a 440 High Performance 4-barrel
The 440 High Performance 4-barrel was available as the standard engine for the 1970 GTX. The compression ratio decreased from 10.1:1 to 9.7:1 from the previous year.

1970 GTX With a 426 Hemi
The 426 Hemi was available as an option for the 1970 GTX. The camshaft was once again changed from the previous year using hydraulic tappets instead of mechanical. The lift and duration remained the same.
