Many people wonder how many 426 Hemi engines were produced for cars available to the public.
There was a total of 10,669 426 Hemi engines produced for production cars between 1964 through 1971. This figure includes race and street versions.
Of the 10,669 426 Hemi engines produced for production cars, the following is a breakdown of how many were race and street versions.
- 9,778 street Hemi engines were produced for production cars between 1966 and 1971.
- 891 race Hemi engines were produced for production cars between 1964 and 1968.
The following is the breakdown of how many 426 Hemi engines were placed into each production body style vehicle.
- 150 426 Hemi engines were produced for the A-body cars in 1968 (all race Hemi engines).
- 9,311 426 Hemi engines were produced for B-body cars from 1964-1971 (race and street Hemi engines).
- 1,208 426 Hemi engines were produced for E-Body cars from 1970-1971 (all street Hemi engines).
