1968 Dodge Coronet Super Bee Engine Options and Specifications

In 1968 the Dodge Coronet Super Bee was produced with three different engines.

For the 1968 Dodge Super Bee, the 383 High Performance 4 barrel (335 H.P.) engine was the standard engine. One engine option was available which was the 426 Hemi. If air conditioning was ordered, the 383 4 barrel (330 H.P.) was installed.

The 1968 Super Bee was available with the following three engines.

  • 383 High Performance 4-barrel (Standard -335 H.P.)
  • 383 4-barrel with A/C (330H.P.)
  • 426 Hemi (Optional)

1968 was the first year for the Super Bee, therefore there is no engine comparison from the previous year.

The Dodge data book indicates if air conditioning was selected the regular 383 4-barrel engine will be installed. See the photo below.

1968 Super Bee With a 383 High Performance 4-barrel

The 383 High Performance 4-barrel was available as the standard engine for the 1968 Super Bee.

This engine made 5 more horsepower (335 H.P.) than the other 383 4 barrels available in other Dodge cars. It had the same camshaft as the 440 high performance engine.
